Standard -vs- Graber

There are many different types of carriers used in the industry, the most popular one used by many manufactures is a Standard 8-prong carrier similar to the Graber G-71 Super-Vue with replaceable stems. Because of changes over the years several different designs of the stem do exist and while many are interchangeable some are not, the most significant change is to the gear and sleeve just above the gear. Some stems will have a distinguishing mark on the side or some other characteristic markings to go by. We list several different Standard carrier stems including a few different Graber stems. If you need assistance email us a clear digital photo of your carrier and stem showing all sides and we'll help you try to match it up.

Pinion Rod Diagram
"Prong" Reference

The Pinion Rod runs the length of the track through all the carriers and controlled by a chain inside the tilt control to tilt the vanes.

The 3, 4, and 8 prong pinion rods are made of aluminum and are the most common type used.
The A, C, and E prong pinion rods are made either of a type of plastic or fiberglass.
